For a V-beam, which actually has to be several wavelengths long and fed from one end, the angle of droop should be 19 degrees. As to your own question, all the theory for antennae applies to those that are several wavelengths in free space clear of all other obstacles. Any antennae that we do actually put up is always a compromise, usually being less than a wavelength away from the house, so the answer is, put it up and have a go.
