Very Interesting! I remember watching a documentary on this "bug" on The History Channel, long ago. Will try to get that again.

My father (then in army HQ) and neighbours were discussing the incident and told me what it was.Shortly after this incident, American comedian Bob Hope visited Russia. Kru was the nickname for Kruschev about whom Hope made lot of jokes in those days.
