[HamBrewers] Re: 600 to 8 ohm matching transformer

Venu,

I had faced a similar situation with my JRC NRD92 / NRD93 and NRD95 receivers as well. When you connect a normal 80hms spkr to the Spkr terminals, the freq response would be really awkward. Luckily in these 3 models I found that the solution was also built in.

If you remove the front panel, you will discover that there is already an Audio output xfmr there, you just needed to change the tap from 600 ohms to 8Ohms position.

I am not sure whether NRD72 has this transformer built-in, please open the front panel and check.

There is another way, if you have the Line level Audio output that works across 600 ohms, may be you could connect any of the Ampli-speakers that works with the PCs to have a good shack audio system.

cheers
