Re: [HamBrewers] Potentiometer knobs - large shaft

Ravi,

You could try using a custom shaft coupler with the bore size enlarged on one side. If you use this, you may have to move the potentiometer inside by 1.5 inches.

The other option is to use a custom metallic knob which would not call for any relocation of the potentiometer.

A less elegant solution is to use the Plastic knob, the hole can be easily enlarged by drilling or heating, but you
would end up using an adhesive to make the knob hold the potentiometer shaft.

Hi

I happened to use 3 dual ganged pots for an application. :-)

However, after fitting it all in I realized that the shaft diameter is not the regular "1/4" but larger

While the regular 1/4" knob is 6.19mm approx, the potentiometers that I am using is 6.82mm Standard knobs available do not fit.

I tried drilling the knobs, but not very successful as the hole will not be true.

Any other ideas :-)

Thanks for the help

Ravi
